After a cobra bit her, John Wesley’s mother was on her deathbed until a pastor visited and prayed for her. God healed her, and the whole family put their trust in Jesus Christ.
Burdened to know more about Christ and proclaim the gospel to his people, John Wesley traveled to Vizag with a Christian friend. They attended a Bible school for 2 years, and planned to plant churches together. Unfortunately, his friend changed his mind and hard times hit as John Wesley found himself alone in the city.
Fortunately, a professor at Vision Nationals’ Bible college introduced John Wesley to our ministry. Within a year, he was working as a warden for Vision Nationals and had married his wife, Jyothi. Eventually, John and Jyothi moved to Bheemunipalli village to plant their first church.
In the early days of their ministry, Hindu neighbors abused and threatened the couple. Worse, a Christian pastor from a neighboring village spread rumors about them. Discouraged, they nearly gave up. However, God moved the hearts of the local village leaders so that they started supporting John Wesley’s work. As a result, people came to know Christ, and he was able to plant another church and begin work on a third!
Throughout his time as a church planter, John Wesley received training through Vision National’s ministry. Today, he pastors about 75 believers between the 3 churches. By God’s grace, through our 10,000 Churches initiative, we hope to resource more men like John Wesley so that more people may be reached for Christ.
