Vision Nationals in Japan

Who are the Zorinas?

As an integral part of the Vision Nationals family, Joey and Yisel Zorina are in the early stages of planting a church in Tokyo, Japan, the world’s most populous city. We’re thrilled to have them on board, and we can’t commend them to you highly enough. It’s our hope that you’ll begin praying and giving so that Joey and Yisel can establish a vibrant, Gospel-centered church in Tokyo.

Why Japan?

Widely considered to be one of the most spiritually needy places on earth, Japan is home to the second largest unreached people group in the world. Currently, there’s only one Protestant church for every 16,000 people. In order to get the Gospel within reach of every person, Japan needs one church for every 1,500 people. For there to be one church for every 1,500 people, Japan needs 70,000 new churches.

What are the Zorinas doing now?

Easily accessible from major business centers like Shinjuku and Shibuya, The Bridge Fellowship is a new church plant in Shimokitazawa, the artistic district of Tokyo. The church currently meets at Joey and Yisel’s home and has between 5 and 17 people attending regularly. In addition to weekly home meetings, The Bridge Live music events draw upwards of 70 artists/musicians and young professionals, some of whom have banded together, at Joey’s invitation, to form The Bridge Musiciansʼ Network. In addition to marketplace ministry and outreach events like The Bridge Live, the Zorinas have also held Christmas and Easter preview services that have been very well attended.
